Hawkers Lane, Wells
This property was bought at online auction.
It was built as a barn approximately 200 years ago, and was converted and extended into a three-bedroom, semi-detached house, along with its neighbour, in 1949.
Initially, there were some structural issues to be addressed, which also facilitated the reconfiguration of bedroom spaces, creating a larger third bedroom than would usually be expected.
A pantry and airing cupboard were removed on the ground floor and an RSJ installed to open up the kitchen into a large kitchen and dining space.
A living room window was also opened up to allow for French windows opening on to the rear patio and garden to be added.
The property was re-wired and re-plumbed throughout, and a new kitchen and bathroom were installed.
We also had new carpets and a limestone floor laid.
Permission was also granted for off-road parking, which is now in place.
