Choose to Improve

The new year has only just begun, and it is already looking set to be the year of home improvement.

In fact, if Phil and Kirstie’s Channel 4 show Love It or List It reflected the current market, I’m sure Kirstie would win every week!

While the property market slowed further through the last quarter of 2018, my associates in the building trade are all extremely busy.

In fact, one builder I am currently working on a property with is fully booked right through until 2020!

For many reasons, homeowners are choosing to improve, extend and convert instead of moving – and, by doing so, they are maintaining or adding value to their properties.

I have decided to move in a similar direction with Somerset Property Solutions.

At the end of last year, I took the opportunity of looking at my business model and chose to give greater attention to managing projects for others in 2019.

I enjoy working closely with clients, helping them to realise their dreams and transform their homes.

And, as such, I expect to focus far more on renovation, refurbishment, extension and modernisation work, as well as new-build projects, over the coming months.

With the ongoing uncertainty over Brexit, who knows what the coming year will bring?

I think we are likely to see even more people concentrating on upgrading their homes and I am here to take the weight of responsibility from their shoulders if they would like my help.

I do believe 2019 will still deliver opportunities to canny investors, however, and that we are likely to see much more new-build housing taking place.

This will be everything from bespoke, individual homes and small exclusive enclaves to much larger developments.

We may all be caught up in the current confusion of Brexit but it is important we still maintain a long-term view and to continue to plan for the future.
